Privacy
Avatower counts how the tower is used so we can tell what is worth building next. The counts are anonymous. There are no cookies, no ad trackers, no third-party analytics and no third-party scripts.
What is sent
While a page is open, the game sends short batches of events to avatower.com/api/events, our own server. Each event has a name and a few fixed fields:
- Visit start: where the visit came from (direct, a shared room link, another site, or the
utm_tags of the link you followed), a time-of-day bucket (night, morning, afternoon or evening in your local time), a screen-width bucket (phone, tablet, desktop or wide), the game version, and whether this browser had opened the tower before. - Still watching: a count, once a minute while the tab is visible.
- Rooms and products: which room you opened and its floor, whether it stayed open for 8 seconds, which product card you opened, and when you followed a product link to a retailer (the product id and retailer name).
- Errors: the error code when the tower fails to load.
Each page load gets a random session number that exists only in that page's memory. It is not stored in your browser and a reload starts a new one, so visits cannot be linked to each other or to you.
"Opened the tower before" is answered from the tower save your browser already keeps so the game can resume. Nothing new is stored for measurement.
What is not collected
- No IP addresses are stored. Your address is used only briefly, in memory, to limit how many requests one connection can send.
- No user-agent string is stored, only a coarse mobile, desktop or other bucket.
- No cookies, no advertising identifiers, no fingerprinting, no names, no email addresses, nothing you type.
- Nothing is shared with or sold to anyone.
Turning it off
If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is sent at all.
Retailer links
Product links go to Amazon as an Amazon Associate. Once you leave Avatower, the retailer's own privacy policy applies.
